Play tennis at East Croydon Kilsyth Tennis Club

COVID-19: Tennis Victoria advises clubs to cancel all tennis activities
Check out the latest club news  regarding COVID-19 and what it means for playing tennis at the East Croydon Kilsyth Tennis Club.  For the foreseeable future, the club has been directed by Tennis Victoria to postpone all of its tennis activities and programs - which includes social tennis and coaching.

It is of course disappointing news.
Our club members and coaching panel have been highly diligent in complying with the state government's health & hygiene guidelines - particularly those that related to social distancing and responsible self-isolation if feeling at all unwell.

Our club recognises the imperative of minimising the spread of the corona-virus. Following some simple precautions can help to reduce your risk of exposure to the corona-virus. You might like to visit our page on Actions to Reduce Risk of COVID-19 Infection

These are troubling times ....... But by caring for each other and asking for help if we need it - or helping others where we can, then we will eventually get through this...... If you are required to undergo quarantine at some stage because you suspect you carry the virus, then you might be interested in our page “Coping With Self Isolation”

SOCIAL TENNIS Thursday evenings - postponed until after pandemic crisis has passed

East Croydon Kilsyth Tennis Club offer plenty of competition tennis options - although during the current pandemic, all tennis activities and programmes have been deferred until later in the year. However when some normality eventually returns  if you're not wanting to play tennis regularly in a team, then social tennis might just be the option that suits you

Social tennis will be offered on Thursday evenings, 7.00 - 9.00 pm. At this point, we can’t say exactly when  social tennis will resume.  There are simply too many unknowns associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

When it does eventually resume, social sessions will offer a great opportunity to play tennis and meet new people, without having to commit to regular competition. The cost will be $5 per player (goes to cover lighting expenses). Club hosts a visit from our local state MP, David Hodgett
East Croydon Kilsyth Tennis Club  was delighted to host a visit from our local state MP, David Hodgett.
Noel Hester, David Hodgett, Andrew & Kelsey, Steve Baldry & Mike Drummond
The visit served two useful purposes - firstly it offered David an opportunity to see first-hand the popularity of the kids FREE school holiday tennis clinic which was being run by our awesome club coaches, Andrew & Kelsey. David chatted amiably with some of the parents of kids who were participating in the clinic (over 100 juniors enjoyed the free clinic - and the BBQ that followed)

But secondly, David also met three great servants of the club - Noel Hester, Steve Baldry & Mike Drummond.  David recognised that volunteers such as these three, are the life-blood of any community sports club. He also offered his support for the club's participation in the Tennis Australia exciting new program, "Get Your Racquet On" - designed to encourage both new and lapsed players to join us and have some fun with tennis.

Congratulations to our Club Secretary - Steve Baldry
